All things are connected, what falls upon the earth, falls upon the children of the earth.
The earth as a whole is a living thing. So what falls upon it falls upon all the living thing on the earth. The earth lives and breathes just as the humans who live here do. If the earth becomes sick, so do the people; if well so are the people.
